| Title | Service Publication & Discovery with syntactical, semantical and pragmatic annotations |
| Expert | Maarten Steen (TELIN) |
| Priority | mandatory |
| Description | Service publication and discovery shall include annotations supporting semantic, syntactical and - to some extend - pragmatic statements on the use of the service. Use cases for these annotations will be for service discovery, service composition, and for analysing the potential behaviour of a composition (e.g. SLA checks). Both manual and automatic composition of services requires access to various types of descriptions of available services. In particular, the ACE requires access to the SPATEL, SA-WSDL and semantic referential documents as defined in WP5. The Service Publication and Discovery facility should allow searching for existing services according to service goal, input, output, etc. |
| Rationale | Annotated information about the service is needed to make a intelligent decision. Other use of annotations is also envisioned in our scenarios. |
